Yes, that’s why I’m asking questions and not bashing this person for using an LLM.

How could you catch hallucinations without checking this information with another source? Or is it the case that coming up with a correct search phrase was the hard part so when you already had the explanation it was easier to search for it? But at that point quoting the other source instead of LLM would be the obvious choice for me.
QuizzaciousOtter@lemmy.dbzer0.comto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How to relax and most importantly stop thinking about the things i could be doing?3·17 days agoSo I struggle with something similar and it turns out it’s because I’m autistic. Maybe you are neurodivergent too? If you decide to consider this idea, I recommend to check out content where neurodivergent people talk about their condition. I would never consider I might be autistic just using descriptions by neurotypicals, the difference is huge.
Now, about your actual question… I don’t really have a perfect solution. I personally use marijuana. I usually plan the time to take a break from all the projects and learning at the end of the day. I make sure all the important chores are already taken care of. Weed definitely does help but I see how it’s far from a perfect solution. Ideally, you wouldn’t rely on any external substance for your wellbeing.
Many people recommend meditation as a way to regain control of racing thoughts. I was never able to make that work though. Whenever I try I just start working on one of my projects in my head…
Good luck!

QuizzaciousOtter@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Linux@programming.dev•Why NixOS is the Future - YouTube5·1 month agoAs a huge NixOS enthusiast I wholeheartedly agree with you. It works amazing for me but only because my autistic ass hyperfixated on it to the point of tinkering with it every afternoon for months.
I would love to be able to recommend NixOS to people but unfortunately, the lack of good documentation is a huge problem.

QuizzaciousOtter@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What should be the ONE universal controller layout that everyone would agree on?3·1 month agoR1, R2 and R3 are endlessly confusing to me. I still mix them up sometimes after over a year of owning PS5. It makes no sense that they aren’t in any order! It should be 1 - trigger, 2 - bumper, 3 - stick or in reverse. In order in the top - down axis.

It could be an incel who wants romantic a relationship but completely misunderstands women. But it could be also just a normal person wanting a sexual relationship and not knowing how to start one.
QuizzaciousOtter@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmy, what's the meaning, or point if you prefer, of life? I know 42, but I'm serious. Nothing lasts, everything is meaningless - are we just amusing ourselves until death?5·2 months agoTBH, yeah, that’s what I consider the point of my life - amusing myself until death. Whatever I do will not matter in 100, 1000 or 1000000 years which is all just a blip in the scale of the universe. So basically, I’m just trying to have fun and help other people have fun. Of course I realize that I’m incredibly privileged to live a life where I don’t have to worry about too much and I can think about fun and not surviving. I experienced difficult periods in my life and the answer to this question was much, much harder back then.

I don’t know if it’s something wrong with the article or my English comprehension skills. Anyway, here’s what I get from this: so the (grand)parent’s of young gay boys took them to Hooters hoping to reinforce their masculinity and heterosexuality. But the waitresses were so friendly and understanding that they actually ended up reinforcing their real sexual orientation instead. Is that correct?

BTW, what do you consider good shoes? Any recommendations? I really struggle with this. For the colder and wetter part of the year I usually wear Salomon trail runners and I love their all-terrain, all-weather properties. They have one weak spot though - the heel counters wear out well before anything else in the shoe which overall seems rather indestructible. How did they fuck this up?!
But for the summer… I literally haven’t found a shoe which would be suitable for very long walks in various terrains and weather conditions and would be also breathable and light.

At this point school and interacting with your peers is a vast majority of your life. I don’t think I have ever seen a kid being bullied every day at school and not caring. How can you not care if you’re scared?
I guess it is possible as you get older, more mature and closer to adulthood. But for a kid in a primary or middle school? Kinda hard to imagine for me.
If I’m actually reading with the goal of thorough understanding then it will take as long as reading it aloud or longer. I can still skim through the text faster, but I will understand less of it.
The Wikipedia article on subvocalization has a section on speed reading. It seems that subvocalizing can in fact limit the reading speed.
Chrome is just faster than Firefox. I use Firefox, but I do it despite its performance, not because of it.
