I have my doubts. In my experience, the absolute worst customers were the ones who wanted to lecture you because ~I used to work in retail.~ I think some people just suck.

RIP Sweet Wasabi, you had a great blep. So sorry for your loss. 💔
Our gal has a similar mask pattern & I gave her a few extra scritches for you.
Says a lot about these people and is honestly kind of tragic they love their lives this way.
“When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I’m basically the same. The temperament is not that different.” -Donald Trump https://www.cnn.com/2016/03/04/opinions/president-trump-six-year-old-with-nuclear-weapons-dantonio/index.html
While I generally agree with you, this case is literally an example of how the public’s outrage DOES matter and potentially changed the course of this case, regardless of the legality.
Most of the time it’s not as egregious as trying to use a free trial for streaming to force arbitration for wrongful death at an amusement park. I truly can’t imagine any world where this doesn’t blow up because it’s so outrageous.
I’m just confused how anyone thought this was a good idea to begin with. Surely the strong public backlash could have been easily anticipated.
They’re talking about the meme. Walz’s comment was an “if you know, you know” kind of joke. Totally fine and funny. The meme, however, distilled it down to a “direct” quote that he didn’t even say, calling Vance a “couch fucker”–you don’t need to look that up to take issue with it.
I’m not sure I have an issue with the meme, but I see their point.
That’s why I added the link. I thought anyone reading who wasn’t already familiar with the quote would just assume it was a joke, I know I would.
Nothing makes me feel old quite like a gen z meme.

It isn’t about having a bad taste from the past. Policy like this would further disenfranchise vulnerable populations present day. A barrier for entry like this is going to disproportionately impact lower income folks. Hard to study for a test like this when you’re busting your ass at 3 part time jobs trying to make ends meet. That’s not even to mention the inequality that exists within the education system between higher and lower income areas to begin with. “Our system failed you, so now you’re not qualified to vote. Cheers!”
Three guesses as to who this policy would affect more: white people or people of color?
They had him do that thing where you kneel on top of your shoes.
Um OK but surely they already have policy, processes, and infrastructure in place to successfully execute it within that time frame. There’s a big difference between being already set up for it and the Dems randomly deciding that they’re going to run another primary next week.
Saying a month is “plenty” of time to plan and run any kind of election on a national level is so ridiculously out-of-touch I read it back like five times thinking maybe it was sarcastic. Off the top of my head there’s booking polling places, securing & training staff, voting machines, ballots that need to make their way through the entire supply chain starting all the way back at pre-production. Mail in ballots alone usually go out like a month ahead of time to compensate for issues with the mail.
At this point in time, there’s a higher probability of Superman flying around the world backwards to rewind time and correct the gunman’s aim to actually hit Trump at that rally than there is of the Democrats being able to successfully pull off a second primary in a month. And that’s not even to touch the “coming out stronger” piece of it, which again, no chance in hell that happens with the kind of chaos a second primary would cause.
Yup, exactly. That’s the question that actually matters. Tons of Republicans were very vocally against Trump in 2016 too, but fell in line as soon as he was named their official candidate. The Republican Party is great at unifying around candidates and messaging when it counts (probably one of their only legitimate strengths.)
God, if only we actually had our own country…
Why does she look exactly like McLovin in a wig in this picture?
Russia… Their campaign interference has been targeted to rile up both the far right and the far left. And of course the beauty–if you can call it that–of all their psyops bullshit is that it convinces real people to push these talking points and carry on the momentum organically.
By very wary of any so-called leftists who are so dogmatic they refuse to understand that plugging your nose and voting for Biden is the option to prevent a terrifying loss to the progressive agenda. They are either accelerationists like the other poster said or are spouting Russian talking points (regardless of if they’re a real person or not.)
His “tough guy” face is truly hilarious. He did it in his mug shot, too. He’s trying sooo fucking hard.
