  • Seconded. They are not laughing at your misuse of the words grammatically. They are laughing at the unintentional parallel to the way bigots talk about the people they target with their hate/insults. For a joke, they are twisting the meaning of your words to imply that when you say “those people” you are referring to some minority or marginalized group in a derogatory way. “Those people are loud” is an innocent statement on it’s own when referring to a group of people being disdisruptive. But “Those people are loud” when “those people” refers to an entire demographic of people is a derogatory stereotype. “What do you mean thoooose people?”

  • … but I don’t.

    rubs eyes

    … but I don’t.

IN WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE IS THAT EVEN REMOTELY, METAPHORICALLY, GENEROUSLY TRUE!? The man cannot open his mouth without generally talking about how everyone on the left is actively, intentionally and malevolently destroying America, and that’s when he is not actively calling for his highly volatile MAGA followers to do unethical, and even illegal, things to ensure “they don’t steal this election”. His followers break into and flood the Capital Building leaving police officers in their wake, conspire to kidnap governors, break into Nancy Pelosi’s home and beat her husband to within an inch of his life when they don’t find her, not to mention all the general violence and hate of those like the Proud Boys, the Patriot Front, and other white Christian nationalists. The idea that anyone could ever possibly see you as innocent in, at minimum, your rhetoric is mistifying.

  • Fuck, you’re right. It was the Republicans that were all fighting for Emancipation, and equality and human dignity for all men of every race and creed all the way back to the era of Abraham Lincoln… huh… So… How we feeling about Confederate monuments and flags, modern GOP? Black lives and incarceration rates? Civil rights for all? Religious tolerance? Immigration? Yeaaa… thought so. Shut the fuck up, you dumb motherfuckers.

    • She definitely needled him. I knew when she talked about all of the inane nonsense he talks about at his rallies and how he exhausts his own supporters so much they leave early during his 90 minute long ramblings that that would piss him off to no end, and sure enough all he could do after that was brag about his rallies and claim no one goes to her rallies. That being said, why in God’s name did ABC let him get the last word on. Every. Single. Talking point? No matter who was talking first, no matter the subject, no matter how off course he was taking the topic, he’d start whining after she finished talking and they’d turn his mic back on and give him more time. If I’m not mistaken they gave him an extra rebuttal one time then tried to restrict Kamala from responding back until she insisted so much that they relented and then they STILL gave Trump another minute to give the last word again! What the hell was that? Tell the fat orange fuck “no”, follow the rules and move on! If he wants to whine about her words, he can eat up time from the next question doing that. Don’t give him more of platform to spout lies unchallenged. He has plenty of that already.

  • I had an apartment where the landlord had clearly painted right before I moved in, and had done so with an ungodly thick layer of latex paint. That’s fair enough for the walls… I hope it wasn’t to cover up mold, but he was very thorough. He did paint over the outlets and some hinges too. But even worse he also painted the bathtub/shower combo. Like… the whole thing, including the sloped interior basin of the tub.

Not only is that fucking weird, it’s also a major hazard as ot turns out. Did you know that latex paint is very slippery when wet? I do now. Had to cover the bottom of the tub in adhesive strips of traction tape to not crack my skull open. What’s more, latex paint is not meant to be applied to bathtub, nor is it meant to be bombarded with hot water every day for months on end. So as you can imagine, shortly after moving in, paint would periodically bubble up and chip off

By the time I moved out, a little over a year later, almost all of the paint had peeled off the bottom surface of the tub revealing the heavily lime scale stained surface they tried to cover up. So glad they tried to kill me with a frictionless curved bathtub bottom rather than to replace, properly clean or even just leave the bathtub as is.
