Aww please give Rizzo a hug and tell him he’s the best.
Always looking for new music.

Yes! Love JG Thirlwell’s work. Been listening to the Wiseblood album a lot recently.
Beehavioural even?
I’ll show myself out…
It’s all metric until the final part 😭
It’s still one of my favourite albums.
You know, I love those albums where they fucked around did things like hard-pan all the drums to the right channel. I’m here for the experimentation.
👍🏻
I’ve always thought “separate the art from the artist” should be a conversation, not a hard and fast rule. I’ve never heard White Freckles so I don’t really have an opinion on this. But if the track is meaningful and brings beauty to people’s lives, that’s valid despite the artist being a piece of shit.
There are some artists where I feel the artist’s behaviour does not outweigh the impact of their work on my life, for example Eric Clapton, but there are other artists where I feel their work stands up despite the artist’s actions (Prince, David Bowie).
You know it’s okay to dress brightly, flamboyantly, dazzlingly and even fabulously too, right?
Yeah there’s an honesty in his voice that really resonates with me.
Anathema are one of my favourite ever bands. This entire album is immensely important to me.
I understand your point but let’s not ignore that fossil fuel corporations have made campaign donations and contributions to legislators for as long as those corporations existed. Whether or not legislators totally bought into the FUD (and I’m not sure all did, the same way not everyone in the wider public discourse bought into it) it was literally not in their interests to legislate against fossil fuel.
So, yes, we should hold them responsible.
Climate change has been in the public discourse since at least the 80’s, so legislators did know. It just hasn’t been in their interests to acknowledge it.
Looks like Lejek finally got their own human. Good job Lejek!
I didn’t intend to be dismissive and if my response sounded that way then I apologise.
I agree it’s difficult to be on the receiving end of vague signals, but my perspective is if there’s any annoyance or frustration it should be directed at the violent/angry men who have caused women to feel unsafe.
Helping women feel safer by tackling the violence and misogyny directed at them by men will benefit everyone.
While it might feel rough for you, it’s worth remembering that a lot of women have faced very real threats of violence for their upfront honesty.
If you’re only getting vague signals then maybe that’s the sign that she’s not fully into you.
I’m with you on that. I can’t listen to it too regularly because it’s emotionally draining. But this album makes me feel all the feelings.
Outrage/protest isn’t really evident in pop music, but it’s still there in scenes like punk and hardcore. Off the top of my head, Body Farm are a great contemporary punk band that call out (neo)conservatism and fascism.
Edit: check out their track Revolution With Friends
