The climate change and insane weather patterns that we’re experiencing are a byproduct of the carbon that was emitted into the atmosphere in the 1970s. That’s 50+ more years of carbon accumulation that we haven’t even really been able to measure. In another 50 years, the feedback loops will be very underway and the acidification of the oceans, the collapse of the AMOC, and massive heat domes will probably kill most people on Earth.
