Yeah isnt a mace used for anti armor? Because of the bludgeoning factor? I mean don’t get me wrong getting grazed with that would hurt but getting grazed of the sharp side of a sword would hurt more… Hmm…

I suppose either would be pretty damn deadly when it really comes down to it if you get a solid Hit. Though not as easy to conceal as mace

A flanged mace is the common counter to chainmail, circa 13th-century European armored combat. A curved sword is better for unarmored or those in animal hide like leather.

A mace (general) is a club with a head, which packs a more diffuse wallop than a bladed weapon or a spiked weapon. Spikes on a mace (such as a morning star) can help to focus and to punch through armor.

Not to be confused with a spiked flail, in which there’s a chain between the handle and the head (a spiked ball or flanged star, like the one held by the Witch-king of Agmar) The chain helps circumvent shields, but it becomes very easy for the flailman to hit himself. Kinda like nunchaku.

Swords need cared for, sharpened and all that.

A metal ball on a rod is a metal ball on a length of metal that can crack bone. Ball comes off, I still got a metal rod.

Put some little blades on the mace! They won’t stay sharp for long, but the first few Nazis you hit with it will have a really bad day

Yeah it sounds heavy as fuck. And also like there’s a safe place to grab. I’m like a sort. There’s no safe place on a sword there’s also no safe place with chemical weapons…

          So back to Bear mace.

Grabbing a sword to control it was more common than you think! Especially when wearing gloves, but a skilled fighter can hold on to the flat of a blade with the bare hand, and usually not get hurt

against an unarmored opponent basically anything is a decent weapon, literally just a rock is fairly deadly, especially if you throw it accurately.
