No. I happened across somebody on Lemmy from the same sub 100k city as me though.

I haven’t talked about it with my social circles but I would be surprised if nobody I know is on here.

Yes I have been a Lemmy advocate since I joined, but I have only ever gotten one person to use Lemmy. I told one of my daughters friends mom about Lemmy. She does not allow her daughter to use social media. Except for Lemmy.

So that is it. My one conversion. I have kind of given up on trying to convert people. I still love Lemmy and the Fediverse, but the year of Lemmy mainstream has yet to come.

Nah. My brother, wife, my two best friends and one co-worker are the only ones who even know it exists, and that’s because they know I use it as an alternative to reddit since the API fiasco. It’s honestly pretty obscure, but I like it that way. I’d love to see larger niche communities, especially since r/stalker was one of the only places I could actively talk about my favorite game series, but Lemmy has been a far better experience overall.

As long as it’s small there is no interest in meddling and control by the regime.
Afte witnessing the evolution of so-called ‘moderation’ and the inherent bias it entails I can say I prefer free speech with all the insults and whatever comes with it over the shithole that Reddit has become.
Deleted commments, banned or ghostbanned for the slightest and bots bots bots.

People don’t like redditors in general, its an insult, I dont think lemmy has the same vibe but its also not popular

I look in the mirror every morning and yell at that fucking idiot who uses Lemmy. It’s my favorite time of the day. :)
