There is a whole album for Dwarf fortress that is just incredibly atmospheric guitar, give it a listen. Personal favorites: Strike the Earth and Vile Force of Darkness. They both slap so hard
And
It’s Never Too Late by Tommy Emmanuel
Also
And honestly anything by Stone Rebel
Edit to add: OVERWERK does EDM-ish mixes/covers of classical music. Toccata is really good
How about some Gotan Project or Tabla Beat Science?
Big fan of We Lost the Sea, especially the album Departure Songs.
Passacaglia by Bear McCreary from Battlestar Galactica is the first thing that pops to my head.
https://youtu.be/Y9CqU1aMqygThe rest of the BSG soundtrack is incredible in this regard as well.
World of Warcraft has some of the best instrumental music out there in general though im not sure if it counts as instrumental as choir is often used. This recent orchestra rendition of Wrath of the Litch King expansion is incredible: https://youtu.be/DoRkjNKOe20
Hans Zimmer. Add collabs with Lisa Gerrard and Klaus Badelt for Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean. Honestly, just go through the whole range of emotions and watch/listen to his Live in Prague. Start to finish it’s beyond wonderful. His soundtrack to Madagascar has no reason to slap as hard as it does.
Seconded! Big fan of the Pirates soundtracks and the Gladiator battle music is excellent. I’ll have to go dig up Madagascar’s soundtrack since I have no memory of it.
Dayvan Cowboy by Boards of Canada is probably my favorite instrumental of all time (BoC is instrumental ambient electronic, mostly experimental).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng2vTXxnD20 Original track
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1TyX33PfwY And an most incredible remix
Boards of Canada for some lofi nostalgia
Streets of Rage soundtrack, Sonic 1-3, donkey Kong country aquatic something is a killer
Commix - call to mind is some classic dnb, some lyrics but often looped and mixed to be more of just another instrument
Sasha - airdrawndagger, more ambient slower melodies
Tycho - dive
Anything by Philip Glass or John Williams
Cloudkicker - Beacons, progressive metal band instrumentation kinda like animals as leaders
2010 Toyota Corolla - 2003 Toyota Corolla is the new national anthem
Bohren & der club of gore for some slow noir jazz
You could try The Endless River by Pink Floyd
From wikipedia
The Endless River comprises mainly instrumental and ambient music
I haven’t kept up with David Gilmours solo efforts but I think his post-floyd recordings are in the instrumental genre.

A nice and chill song I love driving to.
if these trees could talk is always where my mind goes when thinking instrumental only
I don’t see Explosions in the Sky mentioned yet but they’re definitely worth a listen.
I was just scrolling to see if anyone had mentioned them yet. If you hadn’t, I would have.
Got to see them live and it was really cool how chill the crowd was. Standing room and everyone just quietly swayed to the beautiful sound.
Lemmy really needs a post-rock community. That’s one of the reasons I can’t quit reddit. The one there is just excellent.
be the change you wanna see in the lemmy :)
Great recommendation. We Lost the Sea - Departure Songs is one of my all time favourite post rock albums as well.
Really like Chopin’s nocturnes.
Best calm-down music in the world. Love listening and playing them.
