Being from Tulsa, Kansas stunned me at how flat it is. Also, LOADS of blond people, felt like another country.
Funny thing though, Florida is actually flatter than Kansas, or any other state!
That’s just because The Ozarks decided to visit western Kansas. Kinda like comparing the panhandle to the rest of Oklahoma.
Florida doesn’t have any real mountain ranges. Even the Appalachians were like, that’s just a bit too redneck for us. Georgia is questionable, but we gonna end in Northern Georgia, cause y’all just went off the deep end further south than Marietta.

i’ve been through there many times new mexico to missouri. signs of ancient life confirmed. John Brown turned up Kansas.
I’ve only passed through the state by bus, but it was the first and only time in my life I was somewhere that I couldn’t see any hills or mountains in the horizon other than literally the middle of the ocean.
Lived in Kansas my whole life. Can confirm I grew up with and now own more lawn chairs than people that live in my house (gotta have extra for guests).
I do however enjoy hiking, I just have to leave the state to make it “hiking” and not a “long walk.”
I think it’s just a west of the Mississippi thing… I grew up all over and midwesterners east of the Mississippi have n+3 lawn chairs. N being the number of adults in the family.
West of the Mississippi it’s the same n+3 formula, but now n includes all the children, and it’s more like n^3. I live in San Diego, and we have 15 lawn chairs for 5 adults, plus a patio couch. That’s seating for 18 adults in our front and back yards. I don’t know why. I haven’t collected even a single outdoor chair in 44 years of life… My idea of an outdoor seat is a bare rock.
Ok, that’s a bit insulting to Kansas. They should at least be the “Tornado Sign.” No other state has been specifically named in their sign.
