So, mostly agree. I enjoy his content. However… He, just like many others, waited until it affected them to start getting confrontational about the Trump administration. It wasn’t until the DC Bar Association was under attack that the content and message shifted from “this is my dry lawyer take on the end of humanity” to “holy fuck this is bad and this is why you should care about laws getting shit on with impunity”.
Maybe I’m expecting too much but every time one of these public figures reacts with a “I didn’t think it could happen to me” I want to kick them in their proverbial nutsack.
I mean, there’s a value in trying to be an impartial commentator as long as you can be one. Which is what I think they were aiming for. But that can only exist as long as you are not literally under attack by the current administration.
So on “he should have called out Trump sooner” - yeah, sure an open liberal/leftist should have, but that’s not what LegalEagle has been aiming for his persona to be.
i’ve also yet to see him say anything particularly useful, the vibe seems to be “this sucks but maybe if we put enough faith in the legal system it’ll all solve itself?”

If you got faith in legal institutions against fascism, he’s great.
But he is a lawyer through and through: effectively too mercenary to make an ideological stand for anything beyond that legalism.

Eh. It would be better if there was something actionable but some things can just be news sources.
