There were a handful of them. Two I remember are allofmp3 and something like mp3eagle. One of those introduced me to Muse around the time Black holes and Revelations came out.
I mean, yeah. But they weren’t and aren’t exactly alone.
Really sorry for your loss. If s so sad. We have a kitty who’s getting up there in years. We had to put down her bestie earlier in the year (check my post history), and she’s the next oldest. We’ve been mentally preparing ourselves ever since to say goodbye to our awesome oldest cat. Again, sorry for your loss.
I’m sorry you have to deal with this kind of BS where you live, OP.
Great name for your kitty!
Can’t help but think this is a Bad Thing. Mainly for the reason cited by their current chief justice.
Just because they don’t ticket you for it, doesn’t mean it isn’t legally considered reckless. Cops often exercise a bit of discretion when deciding which ticket, if any, to write up. Some people just get out of tickets. I’ve never been that lucky, and I’ve never really driven particularly fast. A quick search suggests reckless is considered 15-over in CA, but I can’t find the specific statute.
To answer your question, I’ve lived all up and down the east coast and TX.
Some places are sticklers about the speed limit, and other minor offenses. If you’re local, you tend to know where they are, either from word-of-mouth or local news. Most places won’t ticket for going 5 mph over because a lot of judges will just throw the ticket out, especially if you come with a receipt saying you had your speedometer calibrated. In seemingly more and more places, 10 mph over is the norm. Some of that’s due to shrinking police forces. Pretty much everywhere, 20+ mph over is considered reckless driving.
Fair points, but I would also add that while the US isn’t a block, they do hold sway with a number of other countries. NATO is also involved in this equation. China also has significant investments in the US. I don’t fault China for seeing economic opportunity in Russia, but they have to walk a pretty fine line if they’re going to make it work.
Good start. Emphasis on “START.”
I laughed and immediately felt bad about laughing.
But you’re right about rice. A better solution is to use a silica packet. A good argument for keeping some handy instead of throwing them out.
Yeah, that’s what I think of whenever I read about the Bradley. Great movie, and even better book. That said, they were able to finally deliver a pretty solid vehicle in the aftermath of the initial development debacle. Still not at all what was originally intended, but less of a moving coffin that was depicted in the book/movie.
This is what frustrates me so much about people in the US arguing against supporting Ukraine. At the end of the day, while China might be willing to help Russia, the US is by far it’s largest customer. Add to that China’s own economy is contracting, and supporting Ukraine against Putin, along with the severe sanctions that have been in place, is the smartest most cost effective way of hopefully removing him from power. I have a co-worker who got out of Russia a little over a year ago, and he said it was pretty bad before he and his family left. Unfortunately, it’s a slow process because the goal is to get the Russian people to oust him. We all know that’s not going to happen at the ballot box, so all that’s left is the people overthrowing their leaders. Things have to get pretty dire before a population like Russia’s gets to that tipping point.
This is a marathon. The main thing is keeping Ukraine strong and able to defend itself. I’m really liking the offensives into Russian territory they’ve been carrying out. I just want them to remember a defensive position is easier to maintain/win than an offensive one. In other words, don’t try to go to far into Russia. Way way too many great generals have made that mistake!
I’ve driven this exit so many times. That’s crazy!
Those articles highlight sanctions against settlers and a “settler group.” I didn’t see sanctions against Israel.
So as an alternative question so someone who sounds reasonable (it is the Internet after all!), what are your thoughts on a 2-state solution, or Israel’s expansion into the West Bank?
Ignoring of course the fact that a 2-state solution will never ever happen.
“Hey, look at those leopards over there…”
I have absolutely no doubt he has/had nothing to do with it. He has nothing to do with any policy decisions. The “best people” he surrounds himself with handle that stuff. That and the foreign leaders who do favors for him and offer policy suggestions.
That said, I also have no doubt he will happily, blindly even, implement the project because all those “best people” will suggest that he do it.
