  • Neat context for the term: Ballers and Ballin was derived from Ball Players who were the target of envy for early rappers and disadvantaged african american communities in the 80s and 90s, the term became synonymous with wealth, and then later could also be used to describe gangsters who were well off. A great example of the latter would be hit videogame Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 2004 who displayed the most prominent gang to be the Boulevarders or Ballers for short, while a more ambiguous example would be the hit single song Wanna Be A Baller by Lil Troy in 1998 which describes wealth by not clearly its source aside from the implications of slinging drugs.

  • From what very little I know about Myanmar it seems like both coalitions of many smaller sides claim to want democracy.

The one that existed before the military coup had a 2008 constitution which gave each individual zone autonomy but the insurgent military wanted to tear up that constitution and make a federal governing body.

I kind of wonder if this is just another proxy war and we’re unfortunately pushing other people into conflicts for the benefit of one of the three world powers.

  • A large number of Americans prefer to get news from Cable TV. Especially the elderly and poor.

The biggest cable news network by a huge margin is Fox News with more than double the second place, MSNBC, views.

CBS isn’t on Cable, it is a Broadcast TV network but it is among the highest rated broadcast channels, even higher than Fox News, due to CBS also covering sports.

So while CBS is less popular as a news network, 60 Minutes is the most popular News Program in the USA.

In 2013 Pew Research said “About one- quarter of American adults, (24%) watch only Fox News, 23% watch only CNN and 15% watch only MSNBC.”

And here’s some additional graphs for further enrichment of your contextual info

  • Well she did actually, it was all on her website which has sadly been updated or I would show you.

You can still see her Politifact campaign promises page tho LINK

    Economy

Ban corporate price gouging on food and groceries

    Taxes

Will not raise taxes for those earning less than $400,000 a year

This promise extends another Biden pledge.

Roll back Trump’s tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans

Enact a minimum tax for billionaires

Increase the tax rate on long-term capital gains to 28% for those earning at least $1 million a year

and this is in addition to the fact that the Biden Administration already blocked the Krogers Albertson Merger and had the FTC and DOJ investigate prices and firms across the USA. LINK

She also promised to bring back Child Tax Credits and a new $6,000 child tax credit and also to forgive even more student debts.

If there was any issue with Message it was that the people who bought Washington Post and Twitter weren’t sharing their message.

  • I get that TikTok, YT Shorts, and FaceBook slowly removes attention span, but how the fuck does it cause Amnesia for everything that happened before 2020?

Trump literally removed holding time limitations and changed the Criminal Only ICE focus of previous administrations so they could put women and children in cages deport children alone to random South American nations citing some ancient treaties.

This already fucking happened. All of it.

  • Whether she has a direct chain of command from Russia or not, she is a Russian Asset by her actions.

She has been non-interventionist and spoke positively of Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad for decades.

Gabbard promoted party division during the 2016 elections by supporting Bernie Sanders for president even after Sanders asked people to vote for Hillary Clinton. This aligns with Russian psyops on social media at the time.

When Russia Invaded Ukraine she parroted Kremlin Newspapers on the false claims that the USA operated 36 Biolabs in Ukraine.

She sued Hillary Clinton for calling her a Russian Asset for some good press but then dropped the suit shortly after announcing it to the news. Meaning she thought Hillary could have actually won such a case if it went to court.

  • Saddam Hussain ruled Iraq for 24 years during which he invaded Iran to stop rebels from overthrowing the Iranian Sunni theocracy, killing a million people and almost successfully genocided the Kurdish people.

Then, 4 NATO nations invaded Iraq while 37 willingly provided non-combatant support troops. Some NATO nations did nothing and one member opposed the invasion completely.

The United Nations itself actually placed trade restrictions on Iraq without anybody vetoing or opposing it.

Saddam was tried by Iraqis in Iraq after his capture.

I’m willing to bet you simultaneously stand up for Saddam Hussain while you condemn Netanyahu, because Genocide is fine as long as its on your side, right?

And you know what could have prevented the USA’s invasion? A Mutual Defence Pact.
