    From the article:

On Tuesday morning, The Liberty Hotel said it has finished an investigation into the incident and “the security officer is being suspended from their position.” It said all staff are being retrained “on inclusive practices and guest interaction protocols.” The hotel is also making a donation to a local LGBTQ+ organization.

This shit happened in my state. I am low key tempted to figure out who that is, book a trip to Boston coinciding with that dipshit’s return to service, and aggressively “transvestigate” their nasal cavity with pepper spray before I give their teeth an exclusive meet and greet with a curb.

I live in Boston. My parents have stayed at that hotel before while visiting me. I’m going to tell them to not consider it going forward.

The Hotel suspended the asshole guard and is doing a bunch of things to try to make amends and you want to punish them?

Edit: and they are doing all of his in an America lead by an administration that is actively trying to punish any company or organization that even whispers inclusivity or acknowledges LGBTQ+ people and causes.

If they are really so scared of trans. Why not just put an alarm button in the bathrooms? That’s triggers a loud alarm and calls security? Seems easy

That’s just the same situation as in the article above with extra steps.

Some random lady thinks another lady is transgender or whatever. She pushes the button, alarm goes off security comes in. What then? They ask to prove she’s a woman. It’s the same thing.

People should mind their own business in bathrooms instead of gatekeeping who can take a shit.

I agree, but the alarm would be if you’re getting attacked or something. We all know how rare that would be if ever. Rather have that then an old man security guard going into the women’s bathroom

There is no way hysterical terfs are not going to misuse an alarm button.

Yup, the terfs in line couldn’t imagine a woman exists who didn’t look like their version of a woman to them since she didn’t follow every trend of what “being a woman” should look like based on social media, most likely.

Baker was born a woman and identifies as a woman. But, she said she was escorted out of the restroom and then comments were directed at her from other women waiting in line.

“Someone said, ‘Get him out of here,’ referring to me. ‘He’s a creep,’ also referring to me,” Baker said.

Look at yourselves, making up a story you want to hear and then running wild with that narrative??

There’s no indication at all that “radical feminists” are involved, and if there was, they’d probably be supporting the poor woman kicked out of the loo

If someone confronts you in a hateful way about your gender like this, maybe you suddenly become afraid for your safety (valid!) and spray them in the face with pepper spray.

When people ask what happens say you became afraid the stranger was trying to hurt you and put your body under threat because they were.

A gun is not an appropriate solution to this, non lethal response is a better solution, and will provide you MUCH better protection in court afterwards. Murder\Manslaughter charges can fuck you over very easily, even if you THINK you are defending yourself.

And before anyone thinks I’m anti-gun. I have a CC license and I have hunted for 30+ years.

No judgement to anyone, but I think pepper spray is a better option here because bigots want you to be a threat which makes resisting hard because resistance can be so easily propagandized as a violent threat.

If you spray someone in the face with pepper spray, well… it is much harder to make the argument you are a violent threat vs. that person was being a fucking creep and making you feel uncomfortable because you were alone with a stranger in a bathroom being accosted about details of your gender and body that have NOTHING to do with them.

It is 2025, I am not going to judge trans people or other vulnerable groups for taking their safety into their own hands, just be mindful of how you do it and consider how you can subvert the toxic attempt to narrativize your actions as evil.

Look at this point if I see someone giving a trans/queer coded person shit/hurting them/threatening to hurt them I am going to assume my job is to get as many nearby people to notice and shut that shit down by sheer force of normal people crowding out the couple violent fascist assholes because they can’t do anything to a quickly growing crowd of angry normal people…

…so I am really not interested in judging queer people too hard on any reaction they have right now as a cisgender hetero white dude.

I am so mad, I think I could honestly convince most normal people to intervene with their bodies in a situation like that if there were enough people around, anti-trans beliefs aren’t that popular and most normal people are fucking tired of it and just want politicians to make their lives materially better and the more they hear about rightwing gender bullshit violence thinly veiled as pseudo-science the more creeped out they get about the weird obsessions of the rightwing that motivates these pathetic vessels of hate.

The problem of course, and what we are talking about, is when nobody but a queer coded person and a fascist are around, and I have no grounds to pass any judgement in how queer people choose to respond in that space.

Also forces women to conform to gender norms. No pixie cuts, no hairy armpits. Those will get you picked up by the cultural police.
