I think you’re trying to align the Muppets to what their personalities would be. Instead pick against type. Or as their off type. Gonzo has been the narrator in almost all the muppet versions of movies. So he’d be great at telling stories and winning over NPCs as a Bard.
Or how about Gonzo as the wizard who keeps getting KO’d in silly/pathetic ways, only he seems way too into it?

An entire movie with half being lip synced live action sounds awful to make. That’s a lot of lip syncing.
But I’m sure there’s a bunch of tools and talent out there that could make this happen. And it’d be a fantastic movie.
It doesn’t have to be lip synced well… that would be half the charm.

Foreign dubs are basically whole movies lipsynced from start to finish and that happens all the time.
Also fair. but that actually opens up a whole bunch of opportunity. There could be so many easter eggs hidden in what the live action actors are actually saying, versus what the mupets are saying.
It’d be a great skit, but the gag would get old pretty quick for anything full-length.
