Just to throw in a different genre, I’m currently enjoying Car-X Street, Forza racing, and need for speed heat.

I might pick up monster train and doom eternal. Yeah, I still haven’t played doom eternal.

I’d like to buy Sea of Stars or Dungeons of Hinterberg. They’ve both been on my wishlist for a while. But I can’t really justify the cost rn, and I already have a huge backlog to work through. So I’ll probably skip this autumn sale as well.

I’m barely into act 2, and then Supergiant had the Gall to drop Hades 2 on me as well.

I’ve been playing a few rounds of H2 when I rage quit Silksong because of platforming shenanigans / Hard ass boss fights / getting bodied by nobodies while trying to reclaim my cocoon.

Gonna be a bit before I’m buying new games.

I still want to play MGSV, but it’s currently not on sale. My guess is because of the latest remaster.

Rogue Trader is excellent. Wife and I have put almost 400 hours into that one with co-op.

Oh waw we bounced off pretty hard on that one playing coop. After spending so much time in BG3, the “look at player 1 when they’re talking to someone” was a major downer. I think we spend one evening in that game. I can totally see it shine as single player, but coop - can’t recommend.

We just split duties there, and tbh our third run of the game was mostly custom characters just because the combat is so fun. For that run we sent Yrliet to the inquisition, spaced Idira, told Argenta she wasn’t needed - go stay on station, and punted Cassia off the ship at the first sign of trouble. Was actually a hilarious run, and ended up siding with <spoiler guy> at the end for the first time, who was as crazy as I thought but not actual evil and still emperor aligned.

We’ve also played a ton of Solasta, and looking forward to Solasta 2, but absolutely despised BG3. We want to go on adventures, not play a soft-core fuckin’ simulator that bends the crap out of 5e rules. BG3 just gets so boring come Act 3 and falls apart. Brain worms just don’t make for an interesting premise I guess.

I bought “Cult of the Lamb”. It’s not a spectacular discount but good enough to go try it out.

We made our entire cult out of cats 😁. If we ever end up with a non-cat, they’re first up to be sacrificed lol.

I just got the base version. If I like it enough I can wait for another sale for the DLCs

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I’m a completionist. I’ll either get everything or nothing. Which means games with lots of DLC are generally a no no for me.

I think he’s talking about the second one, which I’ve heard mixed things about. I thought the first one was an excellent - albeit short - experience that knows what it tries to do and doesn’t do anything else.

Just to give the other perspective, I think Hellblade II is a masterpiece so I hope you enjoy your time with the two games as well!

I think part of the reason for people’s reactions like above are due to how it was scooped up by Microsoft and was thrust into the hype machine.

I think more often than not, people who played the first one knew what they were getting into for the sequel, and they really are Character Games first and foremost. There’s a reason Senua’s actress won Best Performance for her role in both games.

As an aside, I highly recommend watching the behind-the-scenes videos for the games if you take a liking to them.

I’m seeing a lot of games with what seems like a much steeper discount than usual. First thing I do when there’s a steam sale is look at my wishlist and sort by discount and there are a lot of games on sale for 90% off, many of which only a couple dollars.

Never played the first Hades. Never played Cult of the Lamb. They’re both on sale now, and they seem like pretty good Steam Deck games.
