This could be work or recreational related. Anything you’ve done that you sit back and go “hell yeah I did that”. I’m typically wary of working on cars because I have big hands and no auto specialty tools. But, I was able to make a pretty involved (for me) repair last week and I’ve felt really great about it since. What about you?
I finished my first ever album! 6+ years in the making and I learned a ton. So excited to take what I learned to the next one. https://omnigon.network/music
Congratulations!!!
This is dope!!
Thank you! ☺️
When I get depressed or stressed, I tend to withdraw hard. I’ve ghosted friends for months at a time before. The guilt that comes with a relative ghosting makes it really hard for me to reach out again and usually I instead just let go of the relationship.
But I had a frank conversation with someone I recently withdrew from and it feels like there’s still a friendship there for us both. So it’s tentative and covered in bandaids, but we’re on good terms again.
It takes a lot of guts on both sides to have a conversation like that. Good for you, keep reaching out, we need people like we need water.
Your friends want to hear from you or they’re not your friends. Simple as. Reach out, I’m sure they miss you :)
I made @Ulrich@feddit.org lose their shit and go on a mass reporting spree on my comments. 🤣
reminds me of that scene in clerks 2
I made fun of OpenAI so hard, it made some super geek puke all over the counter. Where do we keep the mop and bucket so I can have Elias clean it up?
I just wrapped my kids’ Christmas presents and put them under the tree. I really took my time this year too.

Nicely done!
Thats great! Lucky kids
I joined Zwift today! I already did utility cycling, but it’s mostly using an e-bike so doesn’t provide all that much exercise. I think the gamification will help me stay motivated enough to actually do rides for fitness.
This is definitely going on my list. The best thing I’ve done for myself in the last year was to get a bike for my health, but winter’s making my rides rough and I’m bored after ten minutes on a stationary bike. It’ll have to wait until after the holidays, but this might be the next good thing I do.
I’d been wanting to do it for years, but I was never willing to shell out the $$$ for a smart trainer until now. I guess $400 was the price that was finally cheap enough for me to stomach.
That’s not a terrible price point, and I’ve been saving for more bike stuff anyway, cause I’ve still got the new hobby bug pretty bad. Until I saw your post I honestly didn’t know this existed outside of something like a Peleton, and the app looks more entertaining than what they’re offering.
Talked to a girl
Thats big my friend.
Got my own single user PieFed instance running on YunoHost before it was ready for production. Lots of testing, multiple failures, but I got it running in the end and it works great.
I’m successfully jacking up someone’s sagging floor as one of my first solo jobs. I don’t want to make being my own boss a lifestyle, but it’s cool to have the confidence that I can ditch my future bosses at any time and just fly solo for a bit til I get a new one.
Nice
been working with my dog to curb some anxiety issues she has and making a lot of progress on her reactivity to other dogs and environmental triggers that make her flip out. she is way more chill now and her reactions are less severe.
It takes a ton of patience to train animals. Good on ya!
What training methods are you using?
Finished this lil guy 🖖 Probably the last job of the year

HELL YEAH LOVE STAR TREK.
Is this printed or carved?
Carved :) oak and brass
Very cool and impressive!
You do some beautiful work. As a kid I collected a few of the metal miniatures from the board game, loved them. Models don’t have to be big to capture the imagination.
Might qualify more for !dull_mens_club@lemmy.world but I recently replaced the oxygen sensor on my Subaru all on my own, after 3 years of putting up with a check engine light.
Just like to say thanks for making this post. Provided me with at least 15-20 mins of entertainment, plus these kinds of posts seem to bring everyone together in a wholesome way.
In terms of what I’m happy about recently, not much, but I have a little time off from work atm, and I treated myself to a new guitar pedal. Sounds great and I’ve been loving playing around with it the past couple days. Managed to start learning some songs I’ve been wanting to play for ages. It’s satisfying nailing guitar tones or interesting riffs.
About a month ago I got a new job with a bunch of very smart people. This week I was making some tests about how good some architecture designs where and some tools we could use to ease our work.
Today I sent a text detailing everything about the tools, which was best and how we could structure everything to use it to its fullest potential and how we could make some grear documentation with it.
2 (out of the 3) people I admire a lot where impressed by it and left comments and heart emojis. And my boss told his boss I’m really good and “A damn lucky find” :D
I’ve always wanted to drum. I’ve been finally learning and I can now play along with several of my favorite songs and it makes me so happy

I 3d printed and painted this guy.
My sister has an official, packaged undead beholder like this still in the package and this is how I imagine it could look once painted. If she doesn’t paint it, imma do it. 😬
