Both parties need to split up into new parties. However, the money flowing is incentive to prevent them from doing that. Party splits have happened before several times in US history. This time the billionaires are funding all of this chaos thanks to legislation they started passing since post Watergate. How do we get them to split? Take the money out or give them more money than the billionaires can. Both resolutions that should not require drawing blood. How do we do that? I have no idea how to fund more money than billionaires, but being somewhat of an optimist, 99% of the population can probably figure out a way once they stop this tribal mentality of red vs blue.

Once Conservatives and “centrists” stop handing power to the worst people we could probably just start reversing this global shift to the right even just with that. Progressive candidates are all over, we’re just too collectively stupid to vote for them.

TBH we should probably stop regurgitating state propaganda trying to convince us that violence isn’t a valid form of protest.

Because the rich have backed themselves into a corner where the only thing that will snap them out of their delusions of world domination is to be forced by the rest of us to confront their own mortality.

She’s saying the thing the Radical Tankie Left has been saying since the Clinton Era. It’s good to hear someone in her position repeating the message one more time. But the fact that it has to come from a fringe member of a fringe caucus, rather than - say - Hakeem Jefferies or Dick Durban, is depressing.

We’re so far away from a McConnell style “We’re going to make Obama a one-term President” moment. Liberals simply cannot understand politics as conflict. Its always just make’n deals for your district’s rich friends and stuffing your own pockets along the way.

The elite Democrats aren’t worried about fighting back.

They are trying to figure out how they can win the next round AND HOW THEY WILL USE THE SYSTEM TO THEIR OWN ADVANTAGE ONCE THEY REGAIN CONTROL.

We need another party that is actually for the people.

I’d love to see them do something other than show up every 4 years and only for President, too.

Yup, the “only turning up to attempt to spoil the presidential race for the democrat candidate every 4 years” just screams “Russian plant” to me. If they actually wanted to affect change, they would start at the local level and grow from there. But they aren’t actually interested in changing anything; They just want to poach votes from democrats, to hand the win to republicans.

At best, if we assume they actually have good intentions, they’re the equivalent of jumping straight into the deep end of the pool without even knowing how to swim. Except they keep jumping in every 4 years, despite the fact that they have put zero effort into learning how to swim.

There is green partys all over the world and they cover all political topics.

What do you want parties to be called to not sound single issue?

The party for peace and prosperity under a reasonably regulated economy with free education and workers right, environmental protection and representative democracy and a yet to develop position on electric vehicle subsidies…

And one of their opponents would be:

The party for peace and prosperity under a reasonably regulated economy with free education and workers right, environmental protection and representative democracy and a no subsidies for electric vehicles but more for public transport…

So the PPURREFEWREPRDYDPEVS vs. the PPURREFEWREPRDNSEVMPT

EDIT: Why are people downvoting this? The argument that a party name would “scream single issue” is obviously an insincere argument. No party has a name to represent all their political positions and there is green parties all over Europe, many of which have been part of state or federal governments. It is just absurd to claim their name to “scream single issue”.

Look, I’m just saying that looking like they are only about the environment is a non-starter in the USA, anyway. Hate to say it, but the Green Party is more or less a punchline in the United States. When it comes down to it, everyone wants clean air and clean water - even the cons don’t want pollution where THEY live (and most normal Americans understand the stakes when it comes to climate change).

But as a brand…the qons have done so much to smear anyone concerned primarily with environmental things as just a hippy-dippy granola dipstick that is into jam bands - it’s a caricature for sure, but it works.

A party needs to have broader appeal than just that.

But people don’t consider the Republicans as a single issue party, that want a republic, or the Democrats as a single issue party, that want democratic elections.

For the green parties, claiming them to be single issue is a narrative that is repeated, for instance by corporate media that does not want people to realize that there is more progressive political positions than privatized healthcare and a limited number of sick days.

Not sure what to tell you - do you see a lot of working class people that barely have the time/inclination to pay attention to things past glancing at headlines to realize that the Green party - which again, has been branded by most of the radical right and the “liberal media” already?

I’m just saying what is. They’d have a lot to work on to gain the trust of Americans beyond this branding, though. People are not going to forget Nader and Stein so easily and many of us are still quite angry about it. There is virtually nothing from them on the local level as well. Trying to do it top-down just isn’t going to do anything, anyway. Suppose they somehow managed to get a President elected. Then what?

I honestly do think they could have pushed through a lot worse than Burgum and Rubio. Hegesth didn’t get a single D vote and also lost 3 R votes but still got approved because they only needed 50 R and 1 VP to tiebrake it.

We cannot stop fascism, the people already voted for it, the most we can do is damage control, and sometimes that means approving selfish assholes who at least aren’t as poisonous as another Russian Plant and/or Fox News Host.
