No, you can’t blame consumers for corporations bad behavior, consumers act in their own self interest, not a collective self interest. This is precisely why we have regulations.

Corruption light and Corruption heavy. I have clear preferences if given the choice.

This is interesting. I’ve been setting up our non-profit’s new grant-funded Azure VM, then Wordpress site, then CiviCRM, then hardening it all, and I’m hoping to offer this as a (volunteer) turnkey service to a few other nonprofits in town. And it’s amazing to me how many hours this still takes, and how out of reach it is for the average nonprofit.

The GOP spent 40 years building a Big Tent Coalition. Their message was simple - if you share some of our values, you’re one of us.
The Dems have spent the past 10 years building a Shrinking Tent. Their message is now simple - unless you share every single value, down to a specific level of support for each community, you’re not one of us.
And look who’s winning.

Floating bridges. especially the big one over Lake Washington, just don’t feel… super fucking safe. I get that they are, with constant maintenance. But seeing a wave generated by your car driving is not confidence inspiring.

I am the donor for a lesbian couple. I’m pretty involved in my son’s life. I took him for his third haircut. Midway through, he was bored, and shooting me one of the angriest looks I’ve ever gotten from him. I took a pic and sent it to his mom.
“Oh god look how mad he is, give him your phone!”
What? He’s being quiet and learning how to be patient while a haircut happens. Some parents think reality is a BAD substitute for devices, it seems.
At least one night a week, he comes to my house and plays without any screens. We talk and explore the world.

What do you think Trump will do to poor people?
This is every bit the Dems who refused to vote Kamala because of her Palestinian stance - a purity test that helped ensure Trump won, and we’d sit and do nothing as a genocide occurred. But we sure showed Kamala, huh

He’s redistricting California which, now TWO red states are doing, but only one blue state has accomplished. Will any others?

Gavin has done what no one else is doing, punching back, speaking Trump’s language. It’s getting attention from all quarters. Meanwhile Dems are busy shutting him down preemptively because purity tests. It’s another fascinating move from the “we don’t want to govern” party.
Ding ding ding
One day I looked at the Everytown for Gun Safety placard in my window and realized, this is the problem too, we need to yield some battles to not cede the war.
But that was when there was still hope for that

Oh thank god I was afraid some more kids might not get talked into suicide by a fucking server

The simple act of comparing signatures meant that it was very difficult to randomly target people. We don’t have anything like that today, like a key/token pair.

You don’t act like they do - just the money hoarding beyond belief, not to mention releasing products they know cause mental harm - if you want everyone to be OK.

Down to the head wound and everything, this is why I think simulation theory has weight. Revelations was written about contemporary politics of the day, yet we are now getting an odd accounting of it, reality itself seems to be acting different than it did a decade ago. This is the point in the game where they just add crazy shit to see what happens (he’s a child rapist but that makes him more popular)

They have left us with only one solution to the billionaire problem. And they’re trying to make that difficult too, with round-the-clock security. But everyone is vulnerable for a moment here or there.
Last night I chatted with my politically moderate neighbor, who is now considering leaving the country, and cheered Luigi, and a bunch of other shit that would have been “far left” a while ago, but I think is now permeating into the middle too.

A lot of folks still believe someone is coming to save them. It’s fascinating. But it’s why we’re so badly fucked, yeah.

The shit they’re doing to the economy worries me less than the shit they’re doing to public health because the latter will be the the hastening of an already untimely end for … well, me. I can be broke (and am damn close) but I would prefer to be alive.

Shh we’ll get to that in due time, we’re still doing “This 4th quarter may not be the BEST ever but it’s an investment” which has a certain nonsensical peacefulness about it, like the feeling of weightlessness before you impact the ground.
I’m also going to think the absinence-only education plays a role. I know people in their 20s today who didn’t understand: lube, protection, HIV, pregnancy. Some of them were HIV+ before they knew what happened. People are confused and uneducated. Thanks Christians!
