The New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) has called on the federal government to strip Zohran Mamdani of his citizenship and deport him.

On Tuesday evening, Mamdani, a 33-year-old self-described democratic socialist, declared victory over Andrew Cuomo, former governor of the state of New York, in the Democratic primary for the 2025 New York mayoral election.

The outcome, one of the first major Democratic primaries since Donald Trump returned to office, is being considered as a barometer for the party’s potential recalibration nationally, at a time when it remains ideologically divided about its future.

In 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower signed the Communist Control Act into law. In theory, this outlawed the Communist Party of the United States and banned communists from serving in certain roles.

    WTF

[It passed because] many opposed communism because of its explicitly declared and historically demonstrable goal to undermine liberal democracy. In the words of Ernest van den Haag, there was “no place in democracy for those who want to abolish [it] even with a peaceful vote”.

At this point I think GOP is simply a fascist party, which has been hiding behind false patriotism.

They are simply atrociously and with no sense of humanity or ridiculousness. Just pure hatred personified into a shell of human beings.

If I were to be religious I would think that Trump is the anti-Christ and his followers are simply demons.

1-the GOP IS a Nazi party 2- trump IS an antichrist, and the thing about antichrists is that they are invisible to christians. 3- his followers are actual satanic pedophiles, which is why they accuse everyone else of being satanic pedophiles.

The fact that a party so blatantly unconstitutional (and criminal) can get so much support in this country is not a good sign for the future of this nation. I wouldn’t invest any hope in things getting better anytime soon. And I mean even when Trump is gone.

    Dark future.

Until a revolution-violent, if necessary- against their media sphere happens you can expect more decline.

All of this is proof that capitalism is an evil economic model, inevitably geared towards death, slavery, and oppression.

A photo of Trump next to a normal (both in looks and mentally) person never stops being surprising, hilarious and disturbing. We all know he both looks and behaves like an absolute clown, but most photos of him are of his goons and/or other dictators (real or wannabes) who all look ridiculous so you don’t get that direct comparison.

Exactly. Authoritarianism is driven by two things, fearful followers who want to combat their fear with control, and social dominator leaders who take advantage of fearful followers for their own benefit.

Here is an entire free book full of research on the topic.

That is the core characteristic of ALL Conservatives - Fear. They are so afraid of EVERYTHING, that they want to preserve the safe little bubble they are in right now. ANY change is to be feared, and attacked.

It’s almost understandable until you realize it’s not just change for themselves they fear, it’s change for anyone else. Somehow, in their twisted minds, an increase in rights and humane treatment for others hurts them.

It’s because they fear they will lose their social “status” of being “better” than someone else. Because if everyone is the same then they can’t be “better”

Conservatives see the world as a zero sum. In order for one group of people to gain rights, another group has to lose rights.

If they revoked a U.S. citizens of his citizenship, that will provoke nation wide protests across the U.S., you dont revoked citizenship unless someone has done something extremely egregious, and there are very very few cases of that ever happening in the U.S. (maybe none, I havent looked it up).

I personally will not sit down and just take these wackjobs shit laying down. This country is everybody’s, not just the far-right dipshits christofascist playground.

This guy has done literally nothing except want a better future for people. That’s not a crime.

Yeah, well, we had the largest protest in U.S. history on June 14th, we aren’t doing nothing. Would you like us to make the potential civil war hot now or later? I honestly would prefer to just do this shit peacefully, but that may not be an option. We certainly aren’t doing nothing like you are saying. Just bcz hou dont personally see it doesn’t mean everyone is laying down.

Nope. No Kings was the third largest in US history after Earth Day 1970 and BLM, and given that it was basically a weekend parade I’d say No Kings was nothing.

Unfortunately I strongly believe peaceful protest only works with a government that actually gives a shit. If we had a government that was comprised of people who we simply disagreed with but who still respected “the will of the people” they’d react to massive outcries.

We do not have that government. We have a government actively pushing for the president to have dictator “unitary executive” powers. As in: setting the president above the judiciary, and having Congress subservient to the presidency. They do not give a single solitary fuck about how upset we are about XYZ thing.
